Niger

There are 5 universities in Niger. The most important institution in the country is University Abdou Moumouni located Niamey, the capital city. This is a public institution administered by the National Ministry of Education. More information here (http://uam.refer.ne/)


Educational Structure
Higher education in Niger is offered by two types of institutions: Technical Institutes with 2-year University Technical Diploma degrees and Universities, offering license (Bachelor’s) in 3 years, Master’s in 2 years and doctorate degrees in 3 years. There are also ‘Ecoles Normales’, institutions dedicated to teacher training. These offer a short track program of 2 years or a long cycle, Bachelor’s degree program of 4 years.


Information for International students
There is no official language of instruction. Although some degrees are taught in French, programs should be checked on a case by case basis.
